Privacy Policy
At My Warranties, your privacy is our highest priority. This policy clearly describes how the app collects, uses, handles, and protects your information.
1. Offline-First Architecture
My Warranties is built as an offline-first application. All warranty records, purchase dates, serial numbers, receipt photos, and store names that you save remain solely on your local device. We do not run proprietary databases that harvest, store, or sell your purchase receipts.
2. Google Drive Backup & OAuth Data Access
You may optionally choose to connect your Google account to backup your warranties and receipt database to your personal Google Drive.
Strict Scope Usage: My Warranties uses the restricted OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This scope grants access only to files and folders created specifically by the My Warranties application.
- No Access to Private Drive Files: The app cannot view, read, modify, or delete any of your personal spreadsheets, photos, docs, or other files in Google Drive.
- Data Ownership: Your backup files belong entirely to you and reside within your private Google Drive storage space.
- Direct Communication: Authentication and backups happen directly between your device and Google's official APIs using the Google Sign-In SDK. Your credentials or tokens never pass through third-party servers.
3. AI Warranty & Receipt Extraction
If you choose to use the AI extraction feature to automatically read warranty periods and dates from an invoice photo, the receipt image is processed transiently via the Google Gemini API. This data is processed strictly for the purpose of identifying purchase details and is not stored or repurposed for behavioral profiling.
4. Advertising and Analytics
My Warranties contains no third-party ad networks, no tracking SDKs, and no behavioral analytics that monitor your activity across other apps or websites.
5. User Data Rights & Deletion
- You can edit or delete any warranty or receipt at any time directly within the app.
- Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data from your device.
- You can remove backups from Google Drive by deleting the app folder inside your Drive or via the App Settings page.
